Gluten-Free Crepe Recipe
The best easy and fun gluten-free crepe recipe. I was inspired to create this recipe at home because it reminds me when my daughter had her first gluten-free crepe while we on vacation. We were walking down the boardwalk and we spotted a sign advertising gluten-free crepes. I was so excited that my daughter could eat a dessert with us on the boardwalk. She loved them. We went every night that we were there to get one after dinner. She loved them.

Making crepes at home
Fast forward to when we got home I was thinking the whole time I have to make these crepes at home. I came up with this gluten-free crepe recipe and found a really fun kitchen gadget called a crepe maker. As with all my gluten-free recipes I strive to make them so you would never know that they are missing the gluten. I could barely keep up making them, everyone was eating them fresh off the crepe maker. I had to save a few for pictures to post here.
History
Crepes have originated in Brittany, France in the 13th century. Apparently, they were made upon an accident and now their are creperies all over the world.
What is a crepe?
Crepes are a very thin pancake. They are pretty versatile, you can make them sweet or you can make them savory. They typically come served rolled up or folded and served with many different fillings and toppings.
Sweet or savory?
You can make your crepes with sugar in the recipe to make them taste sweeter or you can omit the sugar and keep them more savory. To make sweet crepes you can add whip cream, Nutella, chocolate mousse, vanilla pudding and and mixed fresh fruit. To make savory crepes you can add bacon, egg, and cheese, eggs and spinach, sauteed mushrooms and cheese.
We chose to do the sweet kind for this recipe.
How I store my gluten-free crepes
For any leftover crepes I simply plastic wrap the plate they are on and refrigerate for up a couple days. I haven’t tried to freeze them yet but I plan on it soon. I wanted to make a large batch so I could just pull some out when needed.
Tips how to use the crepe maker
This has to be another one of my kitchen gadgets on the cool list. The crepe maker makes it so fun and easy to make crepes. My tips when using it are to make sure you don’t put it flat down on the crepe batter, it doesn’t seem to stick to the crepe maker. So you need to slightly add one side down and rotate your wrist to the other end making a coating on the non stick surface. After you get the crepe batter on the maker you can loose the edge with a rubber spatula and flip it over to give the other side a quick cook too. I made a YouTube video below so you can watch how I used the crepe maker.
Get to making them
Ok, Now you want to gather all your ingredients and mix them together. (see recipe below) Pour them into the bowl that came with the crepe maker. Warm up the crepe maker. Start dipping and flipping out crepes. If the batter starts to get thick after making a few you can add a little water to thin it out.
