How to Grow a Loofah Sponge

November 22, 2019 by Stephanie 6 Comments

How to grow a loofah sponge and my first time experience growing them.

So, how do you grow a loofah? I thought loofahs grew in the ocean.

One day I was taking a shower and I noticed on the side of my shampoo bottle that it said you can grow your own loofahs. Huh! Amazing. I learned something new, so my creativity side said, “Lets grow some loofahs!” and that’s what I did.

This is my journey on how I grew my first loofahs in my backyard. I explain what loofahs are, how to grow them yourselves and how to use them.

Stay tuned till the end I have a YouTube video if you’d like to watch it.

How to Make Fabric Letters

Want to learn how to make this unique gift of fabric letters?

Recently, I was invited to a baby shower and I made these fabric letters for baby as a gift. I always love to make something handmade to give to the new parents. Spelling out the word “baby” with the fabric.

I had made these previously for another friends baby shower also. For that one I spelled out the baby’s name.

Keep reading on to see how to see how I made them and more ideas of what to do with them.

Gluten-Free Tabbouleh

May 10, 2019 by Stephanie 2 Comments

 Gluten-Free Tabbouleh

My gluten-free tabbouleh is a side dish I make often. My rendition of this Mediterranean dish substitutes quinoa for the bulgur wheat commonly used. The added cumin spice gives it a smoky, savory taste that begs you for seconds! It pairs well with most dinners. It’s so simple and versatile.

I will make this and bring it to friends and family houses for a side dish. There is always someone who asks me for the recipe.

Read to the end to get a FREE printable Gluten-Free Tabbouleh recipe card and a YouTube video tutorial.

It’s great to have fresh herbs on hand throughout the warm weather. I picked the few herbs that I use the most in my cooking. Furthermore, getting the kids involved in planting and growing their own food is great to help them learn too.

Gluten-Free Gravy

April 3, 2019 by Stephanie 4 Comments

Gluten-Free Gravy

The topping to finish your dinner wouldn’t be complete without this luscious gluten-free gravy. From using the drippings from the Simple Roasted Lemon Chicken recipe. The secret is to use Bob’s Red Mill 1 to 1 baking gluten-free flour. My family and guests never know they are missing the gluten from traditional flour used to make a roux to thicken this gravy. So full of flavor, my kids beg for more gravy.

I’m always trying to reinvent the meals I use to create in a gluten-free way. Cooking gluten-free has definitely been a learning curve for sure. It saddens me to see my daughter not be able to eat like we use too. (Especially bread!) If your on a gluten-free diet you know what I’m talking about. I try my best efforts to make everything so we can all eat the same things together and not feel like we are lacking in the food quality department.

Read along to the bottom to find a tutorial video and a printable recipe card.

You can also see some more great side dish recipes from my fellow blogging friends from our recent Thanksgiving blog hop. Check out their recipe on their websites below.
