You know all the hype about avocado toast buzzing around but you could never really enjoy it because there was no gluten-free option. As with many gluten-free treats I have adapted to making them at home. This recipe is a definite try for all the avocado lovers out there.
What you need
To get started making your gluten-free bacon avocado toast is:
gluten-free bread (we love this one) but anyone of your choice
pre-cooked bacon
avocado mash
everything bagel seasoning (optional)
salt and pepper
So, to make this quick and easy I bought the precooked bacon and the avocado mash cups all ready made from the store. It helps cut down time early in morning getting the kids ready for school. I also bought the everything bagel seasoning too.
Simple assembly
You want to first by toasting your gluten-free bread in the toaster oven. This gives it a nice crunchy texture. While you are toasting your bread I like to place a few pieces of the pre-cooked bacon on a piece of tin foil next to it to warm it up.
Grab your already pre-made avocado mash out of the fridge. Take your toast and spread the avocado mash over the entire piece of toast. Then take your heated up pre-cooked bacon and and break it into pieces and lay over the top.
Finally, sprinkle some everything bagel seasoning the top if you wish, this is totally optional. Add salt and pepper to taste! Voila! You have some mighty fine toast to enjoy now.
Another method
If you only have raw bacon on hand, get that out and cook it first to prep it for your toast. Don’t forget to save the bacon grease for later to grease your pans.
You can also use fresh avocados too. Grab a few to make the avocado mash. You can do this the day of making your toast or you can make it ahead of time depending on when the little ladies are ripe. A great avocado tool I use is the avocado saver. You can get one here! It is a great little kitchen gadget that keeps your avocado mash or guacamole fresh by keeping the air out of the container.
Another great avocado prep tool I love is this tool. This was one was a life changer for me. I can’t imagine ever not using it now. It slices and mashes all in one handheld device. You can find it here.
Toppings
What else do you put on your avocado toast?
Sometimes I like to put an over easy cooked egg on top. I also have added smoked salmon and chives.
I’d love to hear what you enjoy topping yours with, let me know in the comments.

Yummm, everything bagel seasoning would definitely taste good on avocado toast. I never thought of that!
