At the farm

Every year we try to go to the farm to “pick your own” fruit and vegetables. In the past we have got cherries and peaches and made jam out of them. This year we got some blueberries. We are suppose to have a heat wave this weekend. With the summer heat, who doesn’t love a farm fresh blueberry ice pop.

We grabbed our baskets and headed out to the blueberry patch.

Yummy berries!

Preparing to make the ice pops

Get out your Nutribullet, ice pop molds, wooden sticks, vanilla almond milk, honey and of course the blueberries.

When I got home from the farm I rinsed the blueberries in some cold water. I got the supplies ready to whip up this delicious summer treat.

After rinsing the blueberries add them to your blender. I used my Nutribullet.

I used 1 pint of blueberries this time.

Add 1 cup of vanilla almond milk. I really like the almond milk from Costco.

Then add 2 tablespoons of honey. Its a great natural healthy sweetener.

Feeding my daughter with celiac disease can be hard at times but these ice pops are so easy. We know exactly what is in them and don’t have to worry about being gluten-ed.

Blueberries are a great choice for a snack. They are loaded with vitamins.

We used blueberries because that is what we picked that day but you can substitute them for another fruit if you like.

This is the Nutribullet we use.

Get to blending!

Blend everything till its smooth. Look at that beautiful color.

Almost done, get the ice pop molds ready

Pour the mixture of blueberry goodness into the silicone ice pop mold. I love using this silicone mold because when it comes time to extract these babies its super easy. The silicone is flexible so you can peel the sides away from the ice pop making it easier to come out. Also, running the silicone mold under hot water for a minute makes it even easier to remove them. Plus, this silicone mold gave it a pretty look like it was professionally made. They look great in photos as well, as you will see below in my photos.

The best silicone ice pop molds.

Add wooden ice pop sticks into the blueberry mixture and pop in the freezer for a few hours until they harden up.

These look not only beautiful but delicious! Being blueberry farmers we love to make blueberry smoothies and freeze them in popsicles. We usually use homemade yogurt and just a touch of vanilla. Thanks for sharing!

This sounds great too! We have made strawberry popsicles with fresh farm picked strawberries and love them, so I bet the blueberry ones would be amazing too.
